Project Update
(Message 4313)
Posted 15 Feb 2020 by ![]() Now that its been 12 years since this post https://mindmodeling.org/forum_thread.php?id=30#132 was stickied and 8 years since I asked when it would stop being BETA, does it still need to be stickied? LOL How about badges? They were requested like 6 years ago and Brandon mentioned in 2015 that they were on the list of things to do. Badges are an incentive for a lot of people. I know it is hard to earn them without work available but there are various badges at other projects based on multiple factors. Run time, Total complete work units, Points, Beta tester, finding specific results like primes or amicable numbers, finding results within a specific month, etc... A lot of projects have even let the volunteers design the badges that were used. I would say that if moderating the forums takes away too much, then why not go the route other projects have and enlist interested users as moderators? Users can DM a mod to remove spam which should send them an email to take notice. I also agree that if there was more work (let's face it... over a year?) that more people would be interested and commenting in the forums. However, even if more people were commenting in the forums, you really need someone from the project to interact upon occasion. Brandon tried doing that after others had left. We get there may not be loads of people lined up to submit work. However, this project hasn't really been real informative about who these people submitting work are or where all that science has wound up. With such limited amounts of work, have you ever considered working with another project to have them host instead? That way you can submit work as you get it and someone else manages the server and forums? There have been umbrella projects for a while and I'm sure some of them wouldn't mind helping out. |

MindModeling Updates Dec 02 2015
(Message 3586)
Posted 4 Dec 2015 by ![]() This upgrade will now allow us to push out new apps more easily, and with the new scheduler we should see some possible efficiency gains due to the inclusion of OpenMP. Does this mean the possibility of GPU applications? |

(Message 3403)
Posted 16 Mar 2015 by ![]() I am unable to log into my account using link on the home page. I tried both IE11 and FF. When clicking the link it just reloaded the page. I had to post here using a PC that was still logged in. |

Can't log in using IE11
(Message 3384)
Posted 28 Feb 2015 by ![]() I can log in just fine using FireFox, but IE 11 will not let me log in. It just keeps bringing me back to the login screen. I even tried resetting my password and that link didn't even work under IE11. Other projects work just fine. A teammate of mine also noticed this behavior. |

Any Badges on the way?
(Message 3244)
Posted 10 Jul 2014 by ![]() If you haven't retained the data for each of the application types, it would be best to go with a single badge. I prefer badges for each app, but it really irks people off when their past contributions aren't reflected. Just an idea to throw out there. |

Why not work as a HUGE project?
(Message 3230)
Posted 6 Jul 2014 by ![]() I doubt you will get even one of those projects to merge. You really don't lay down the concept or framework on that little of information and I think from what you posted at deviantart, you are biting off quite a lot to chew. What you propose sounds more along the lines of a large umbrella project with a pretty solid backbone like WCG would have. |

Just a reminder - MM@Home is in Beta status
(Message 2764)
Posted 10 Feb 2014 by ![]() So, how long will (or should) this project remain in BETA? This forum thread has been open for 6 years now. Shouldn't the project move on to non-BETA? The apps may be experimental or whatever, but are the work units still not valid enough to be considered production? |

Computing errors
(Message 1237)
Posted 13 Feb 2009 by ![]() Just to give an update, my quad core running Vista Premium has no problems at all nor does the Dual core system running Vista Premium. From the info given by another user, I think the problem existed with HT processors possibly in conjunction with Vista. |
