Apparently you need to have lots of ram to get the only WUs available..?

Fardringle,

I'm sorry you (and others) have had this issue. These sort of intermittent errors are incredibly frustrating for our volunteers and us. I haven't been able to recreate the issue, though obviously something is going wrong. It's especially difficult since we don't see any error report returned to us on the server-side, unlike most errors. Please know that we are still trying to track this down.

Thank you!
Josh

The only person left.. I'm wondering if the new person will also support us on the forums.

The average max size for WUs is 500MB.
Today my extra ram arrived. Will be installing it sometime soon.

For those who are using Linux, you'll be able to limit the amount of threads allocated to mindmodeling at a time, by being root, and creating or modifying the file
/var/lib/boinc/projects/mindmodeling.org/app_config.xml

In Windows, I presume the file to be in:
C:\ProgramData\BOINC\Projects\mindmodelling.org
But I'm not running windows, so I could be wrong.

<app_config>
<app>
<name>ccl_wrap_linOnly</name>
<max_concurrent>6</max_concurrent>
</app>
</app_config>

I had to use 'quotation' marks, as the 'code' marks don't seem to work properly on this forum.

In the above example, up to 6 threads are used.
I'd recommend to keep it below 50% of your CPU thread count.

Seems to be a garbage collection issue.
I have 32GB of RAM, and 32 threads, and regularly see 10 threads or more waiting for memory.
When I restart the service, it loads all the WUs from before, plus the remaining empty cores, and still has about 50% of memory spare.
If you look into HTOP, it shows in the memory bar as a brown color (cache), and could easily be moved to swp.

IBM is currently the one businesses [to] flock to, trying to find medicine.
Unfortunately IBM doesn't do distributed computing.

Carefully read the World Community Grid pages next time....
Two IBM-logos on this page alone.
It continues e.g. here.

I was referring to Covid
World community at the time didn't let the community in on COVID projects they're doing now.

All the best to you!
Does that mean we no longer have forum support?
8) Message boards : Number crunching : Credit points? (Message 4379)

What is the crediting system based on?
The PPD is MUCH, MUCH lower than other projects, at least by a ten fold.
I'm running 3x Ryzen 12 core 24 threads on this, and barely made a few points.

Seems like ACT-R cognitive modeling environment using Clozure Common Lisp (Linux Only) is the only series supported.
Thanks for the non-answer :)

Most projects that support Android, will run on arm.

I'm getting this error message, and don't know if the project only supports linux in a VM, or it doesn't support x86_64 CPUs?

If the latter, what does it support?

Rosetta is CPU only, which means a lot slower WU processing.
FAH has currently server issues, too many people trying to join.
That being said, neither Rosetta or FAH is going to stop the Corona virus, because by the time their data is analyzed, the virus has long passed.

IBM is currently the one businesses flock to, trying to find medicine.

Unfortunately IBM doesn't do distributed computing.
