If you've been tracking the development of jobs from the progress bars on our homepage, you may have noticed that recent jobs are finishing much sooner than expected. This is due to the introduction of intelligent search algorithms to our server-side software. These algorithms allow us to find an optimal solution for a model without having to fully enumerate and compute every node in a job's parameter space. Once a solution is determined to be optimal, or optimal enough, the job terminates. These methods greatly speed up the cycle of generation, computation, and evaluation of models. Our view is that it is only through the combined use of intelligent search and distributed computing can we meet our far-term scientific and technological objectives, both as a research team and as a broader research community. While in time we will introduce better indicators of progress, for now simply understand that the progress bars are not always a guarantee of work for the foreseeable future.

Yes, I would suggest detaching and reattaching, otherwise your event log will be filled with messages like the following: Wed Dec 5 13:45:33 2012 | MindModeling@Beta | You used the wrong URL for this project. When convenient, remove this project, then add http://mindmodeling.org/
But no, we are still in Beta status. The change was made solely to fix bugs related to URL redirection.

I did as you suggested, detached and reattached, then updated. However I am still getting the message in my event log following updating about the URL needing to be updated for the project.

I was able to attach without any issues using the Mac BOINC client and the new URL. When you type in the URL for the project, does it say it cannot be not found?

The URL works just fine.

It is still not clear to me why you can't attach to the project through the BOINC client (I've now tested it on Windows and Mac), but I have requested that the MindModeling.org URL be updated for BAM users. And as far as I know, I do not have direct control over this.

Apparently its been fixed at Boinstats as looking back at my eventlogs, at approx 2:30 this morning the update occured while I was sleeping so it's been taken care of automatically for all of us like its supposed to.

I don't know why I can't attach to this project either, but its not listed in the projects that I can attach to under BOINC. I've checked several times. There are other projects that I can only attach to thru Boinstats too and not directly via BOINC itself - for instance Quake Catcher Network, or Correlizer are two examples that are not on the BOINC list either.
