Over the next couple days we will be deploying our new system to the live site. Most of the migration should go unnoticed except for a few modifications to our forums, including a news thread. There may be be several short periods when the site is inaccessible, but these should be minor and infrequent. If you notice something on the site is broken or missing, please report it on the forums or via private message and we will address it as soon as possible. Thanks! -Tom

Could we expect any WU's in the near future? I have 5 systems eager for more MM work.

You can expect some relatively small batches of workunits within the month, but larger jobs are TBD.

My birthday is on the 25th. So, in case you didn't know what to get me...

Haha, you make a convincing argument, but it's really more of a gift to us when you donate your CPU cycles to the project.

Maybe some belated workunits are in your future... I'll post some updates in the next couple of days.

What happened to the server status page? Am I blind or is it gone now?

The server status page was removed from the site after we upgraded to the latest version of the BOINC source code, because the latest version required administrative authentication to access the page by default.

We could make the page available again by making modifications to the BOINC code, if you or other members still find it useful, or if necessary, we could provide an alternative version of the page to better suite how you use and view it.

Was the page useful? If so, which parts of the page did you view and why were they useful? Could there be something better or more useful?

And Dave, thanks for posting your message indicating that Feeder daemon was not running. We had explicitly turned the Feeder off during our updates of the BOINC source code, so this is a non-issue for the time being.

Server status pages are invaluable for us volunteers, and indirectly, the project admins. It allows us to self-problem-solve when we are having problems. Saves a huge amount of "I can't upload/download/report work. Is the problem on my end?" posts to the forum, requiring admin response. And then the resulting acrimony if the admin doesn't respond *immediately* addressing the posts....

Ok, thanks for the response zombie! We have added it to our queue of tasks and prioritized it accordingly.

Has it moved up in the queue at all?

Unfortunately, no. Our focus right now is on performance tuning our application so download speeds are minimized (see https://www.mindmodeling.org/beta/forum_thread.php?id=263&nowrap=true#1845). There are also some other bugs reported on the forums that we need to address first. Pending the completion of those, we can look at adding the server status page again.

I think it's time to bump this thread. Being able to see the server status, and the number of unsent tasks in the queue is extremely helpful for us volunteers. Especially now with all the trials going on.

Here is an example of the default server status page from another project:

it's porbably there, but simply blocked:

"Unable to handle request

You must protect the admin interface with either a .htaccess file or an auto_ops() function.

See how here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/HtmlOps"
