Four file sizes 0 plus can't resolve hostname.

WinXP SP3 Home Ed, Core Duo, Boinc Mgr 6.6.20
Other files D/Led ok.
De/Re-attach & complete Boinc Un/Re install doesn't help.
Reverting back to Boinc Mgr 5.x.x also ineffective.

Have you tried detaching and reattaching to http://MindModeling.org/beta ?

Tom, Re: msg ID 1308

I've detached & re-attached to MindModeling.org/beta.
I've reset project. I've tried manually downloading
the four files mentioned, no luck.
The other WU files come through ok automatically.

As you can see I am able to download the task files w/o difficulty.

The last time I saw this (on a different project) there was some sort of server error/issue.

Our project applications can be downloaded in two areas:

Our web server
OR
A Hosting Site

Downloads are usually redirected to the hosting site because it can handle more traffic. The connection to the host site was down however, because our redirector had incorrect permissions assigned to it (only root users could view, modify,or execute the redirect file). In the event that this happens, downloads occur on our web server only. Traffic is high in this area and bandwidth small, so downloading the applications through this portal could take hours (maybe days).

In any case, the files have been fixed for redirecting to the host site, so downloads should occur normally (and quickly) again.

:)

I have this same issue on 2 of my 5 boxes, with 12-15 MM WU's downloading on each box since yesterday. I DLed the latest VER of BOINC, Detached from MM and rejoined. I get new WU's doing the same thing. We, BOINC SYNERGY are about to start MM as our Project of the Month (POTM) so I really need to resolve this if possible. My messages look the same as BlkJack-21's. One thing I noticed is that the MM "Properties" show that the priority to get and the priority to process WU's are both "0". Is there any way to change that manually?

WUs download everytime for me on the first attempt but,
they're useless without an application with which to crunch them.
This problem is now at least a week old for me.

Try downloading and re-attaching to the project one more time and see if that works. I'm going to "bump" the project right now to make sure all daemons and scripts are running correctly. If that doesn't work, append the missing files names to the following link and you can download them manually from our host site:

http://cerici.org/mm/download/

So, for instance, if you need mm_watchdog.exe then you would go to the following link:

http://cerici.org/mm/download/mm_watchdog.exe

OR you can just download the files you need from here.

Drop the files in the /Program Data/BOINC/projects/Mindmodeling.org_beta/ (these folders may be hidden based on your windows settings).Sorry about the hack, but I'm denugging the problem now. Please provide any feedback :)

If you can't get to the page the first time, try refreshing your browser or loading the url again. I tried it twice and I couldn't get the page to load until I refreshed it each time (traffic?). If that still doesn't work, I can email you the applications in a zip file (so long as this issue is only applicable to a select few people).

We hope to have this issue resolved shortly. The computers we're testing download the applications as expected, so we're trying to figure out a pattern for the bug.

We'll keep you posted.

weird, lol
if you could send me those files that would be great, i could send them to others after that to take the load off, (if there is one)
i will continue to try the web address though.

I tried reaching your website on all 5 of my boxes 6-7 times without success; both links. Part of the problem seems to be at your end as I can reach any other link on any other project website on any of my boxes at will.

Please email me the files when you are able/have time. Thank you for your help with this matter. I hope that this resolves the problem. If you want to remote to my aflicted box I am willing to allow it. The only thing on the box is BOINC projects and info. Running Intel E6420 C2D CPU OC to 2.8 GHz W/ 2GB DDR3 RAM on a Win XP Pro 32bit platform.

Here is what I get every time I click on the link you provided or when I try to manually load the website into the address bar at the top of the screen. I searched using FF & IE7 W/O success. Joe B.

Address Not Found Firefox can't find the server at www.cerici.org.
