A member of my team has the problem that on his Phenom X4 with Windows XP all WUs are aborted immediately. According to the log sbcl can\'t be started. So he downloaded the patch and applied it, but as soon as he starts BOINC again MindModeling@Home downloads a fresh copy of the 3.00 client replacing the patched files. Of course the WUs are aborted again...
This is his machine: http://mindmodeling.org/beta/results.php?hostid=4092

Any advice?

Hi I is the member with the concerned system system.
I don\'t apply any Win-XP 64-bit but Windows XP pro 32-bit edition one.
The program of starting universe exes datein for Windows nevertheless doesn\'t calculate her after one to 5 minutes, however, the mistake-news then come

I ask for fast remedy, genes would become genuinely for rakes here.

I may be mistaken, but I thought the \"patch\" was for X64. That may explain why it reloads another 3.00 client.

Hopefully, Jack will jump in and explain.

What Kenny is trying to say, is that he\'s running Windows XP 32 bit and experiences the problem that the patch was meant to fix. Okay, so the patch is for Windows x64. That explains why the client is reloaded and means we\'re back where we started: We\'ve a client not working on 32 bit Windows XP.

Kenny is using an AMD Phenom X4 9850 if this is of any help for debugging.

The patch was for x64 clients BUT it does seem to have a positive effect on Win32 clients having problems running SBCL (The lisp version our application relies on)

One thing does not make sense to me. The 3.00 client does not include the files that are in the patch. They are produced from unzipping the sbcl zip file that is part of the application.

Therefore the patched files can not be over written because, the application will not unzip anything if the directory sbcl1.0.13-x86-windows already exists.

Be sure that all the contents of the patch go into the sbcl1.0.13-x86-windows directory.

Do these files exist as the new patched versions?
C:\\Programme\\BOINC/projects/MindModeling.org_beta\\sbcl1.0.13-x86-windows\\mm_sbcl.exe
C:\\Programme\\BOINC/projects/MindModeling.org_beta\\sbcl1.0.13-x86-windows\\sbcl.core

If the directory doesn\'t exist there must be another problem on the system. If it does exist, new versions of the application will not affect the patch.

I have a problem with my INTEL C2Q Box, running VISTA x64. I loaded the Patch successfully the 1st time I was running MM on the box. I have had to reinstall everything since, and now can not get MM working again. All MM WU's error out as "computation error" within 1 minute. I downloaded and applied the patch like last time without any effect this time. I did notice that the files in the patch I got here are the same file versions that came with the download I did this past Friday. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Joe B.

Seeing as no one will bother to reply to either of my posts over the last 7 days, I will just take my CPU cycles elsewhere. Bye

Starting with version 3.4 -- the patch is no longer necessary.
