I have MindModeling running on a desktop (Win10 64-bit) and a laptop (Win8.1 64-bit) right now. On both, the tasks will get to either 51.98%, 27%, or 2% after about 10 seconds. Then, they stay at that percentage without changing. The status still says they're running, but the time remaining either stays at ~20-30 minutes or keeps increasing the longer the task runs. This remained true until I suspended the tasks after ~4 hours. I've never needed to run a MindModeling task longer than about 35 minutes before. It seems like there is an infinite loop somewhere in the program being run.

What's even more strange is that when I manually update the project in the BOINC Manager, the event log shows it reporting completed tasks, but my system continues to run the same tasks without starting new ones and still shows the progress as unchanged.

Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it?

Hello Itkeklulz,

The python jobs will usually stay at a constant percent complete like 2% for example until they are complete.

However, the job staying active on your machine should after it returns should not be happening. The job should be killed after 2.5 hours of cpu time.

The next time this happens can you please send me a link to the problematic work unit and I will work to get it solved for you.

The job that was giving you issues is out of the system now, when more work is available please let me know how your system is running.

Lastly, what percent of your cpu are you allowing BOINC to use?

Thanks for your support and happy crunching,

Brandon
