The animations are not random but actually representative of the work being conducted on the volunteer's machine. Different models utilize different regions of the brain.

The graphics displayed is a 3-D brain model illuminating regions that correlate to Blood Oxygen Level Dependent (BOLD) function Magnetic Residence Imaging predications of recent model runs on the volunteer’s computer. ACT-R produces BOLD point predictions (Anderson J., et al 2003) and these predictions have been expanded to the a larger brain region for visual effect. Future versions will have the ability to visualize the predicted region more precisely.
