This thread is now a decade old. When will the project itself graduate from "BETA"?

Hello,

I have just joined the project.
I am glad that it has been recently updated.

Kindly, I have a question:
1- Is BOINC compatible with El Capitan (Mac OSX)
2- Does Mind Modelling need GPU? Mine is Intel 4000 which is not quite supported by Boinc.

Thanks!
Waiting for your reply :)

1. Yes
2a. Look at Brandon's post above...
2b. Have you tried running your Intel 4000 GPU at SETI, Collatz, Gerasim or Einstein?

This upgrade will now allow us to push out new apps more easily, and with the new scheduler we should see some possible efficiency gains due to the inclusion of OpenMP.

Does this mean the possibility of GPU applications?

Windows 7 Pro (x64), Windows 8.1 Pro (x64) and Windows server 2008 R2 (x64) is what I have seen it on for sure. Multiple systems. I have not seen it on a 32bit host yet but I don't have many of those to monitor.

And this just popped up. It is the first time I have seen this one:

I'm getting a pop up dialogue with the above title. I have options for File Advanced and Help.

I think it is similar to the one posted before here http://mindmodeling.org/forum_thread.php?id=990#3358

I am unable to log into my account using link on the home page. I tried both IE11 and FF. When clicking the link it just reloaded the page. I had to post here using a PC that was still logged in.

I can log in just fine using FireFox, but IE 11 will not let me log in. It just keeps bringing me back to the login screen. I even tried resetting my password and that link didn't even work under IE11. Other projects work just fine. A teammate of mine also noticed this behavior.

Posted 10 Jul 2014 by Profile Coleslaw
If you haven't retained the data for each of the application types, it would be best to go with a single badge. I prefer badges for each app, but it really irks people off when their past contributions aren't reflected. Just an idea to throw out there.

I doubt you will get even one of those projects to merge. You really don't lay down the concept or framework on that little of information and I think from what you posted at deviantart, you are biting off quite a lot to chew. What you propose sounds more along the lines of a large umbrella project with a pretty solid backbone like WCG would have.

DC-Vault

The Vault Admins have posted a list of projects to be added to, and removed from the Vault. Now is your chance to have your say on what is being proposed. Here are a couple of links to the public discussion about what the Admins have come up with.

So, how long will (or should) this project remain in BETA? This forum thread has been open for 6 years now. Shouldn't the project move on to non-BETA? The apps may be experimental or whatever, but are the work units still not valid enough to be considered production?

Just to give an update, my quad core running Vista Premium has no problems at all nor does the Dual core system running Vista Premium. From the info given by another user, I think the problem existed with HT processors possibly in conjunction with Vista.

Well...I hope they fix this problem soon because I just built a Quad Core PC with Vista Premium. I will let you know if it has any problems as well once it has had some work to crunch.

20) Questions and Answers : Windows : Compute error (Message 1143)
Posted 5 Dec 2008 by Profile Coleslaw
I am in the same boat and have had little help outside common sense suggestions like update BOINC and detach/re-attach. I even tried the manual patch that has been discussed in the forums with no success. My Win2k machine and WinXP Pro machine both crunch fine with this project. One is only a 200MHz and the other is a 2GHz Celeron. I don't know why my Vista Basic machine that is 3.2GHz w/ HT keeps crapping out 100% of the WU's as Compute Error, but it has to be incompatibility issues that the developers need to figure out. No other BOINC projects have ANY problems like this with this machine.
