Hello all,

I just started crunching for MindModeling@Home yesterday. I moved over to crunching from folding@home in January. I was looking around for projects related to the medical sciences area and was happily surprised to find a DC project right in my back yard. Well sort of, I live about 30 miles away from UD and Wright State.

Hopefully this project will fit right into my goals of helping find cures and treatments for Alzheimer's, depression, and other mental disorders. While this project is not specifically working on those issues my hope is something learned here will help in those area's.

Happy Crunching,

Khali

Excellent! We're glad you've decided to join our growing community, Khali!

Our project attempts to understand the fundamentals of human cognition, so it could definitely lead to progress in other areas related to brain, such as mental illness. We have several papers in the publishing process right now, so you should definitely give those a read when we post them.

Just a heads up, your about to get some, maybe a lot, more people running MM. My team, Crunching@EVGA is looking to focus on MM for a bit once the Prime Grid challenge ends on March 16th.

There is also a effort underway to get MM added to the DC Vault projects listing which should spread the word about your project to even more people. I got the ball rolling but Coleslaw picked it up and ran like a mad man with it.
