Welcome, I am very glad you have decided to crunch at MM@Home

We are still in beta form, BUT good science is still being conducted.

Be sure to visit:
http://mindmodeling.org/wiki/
to learn more about our research. The wiki is (and will be) a work in progress to help capture the work done through MM@Home.

Happy Crunching,
-- Jack

Hi all

Just joined. Busy downloading right now - hoping that the large files are the application files and not WUs!

Hello Rod, welcome to MM@H!

That\'s what I was afraid of! Although, I\'m guessing at least one file was only the application which won\'t need to download every time...

My reason for the concern is that I am on a \'capped\' ADSL line (ie, a fixed amount of data per month), so I need to get a reasonable download-to-crunch ratio. What\'s reasonable? How long is a piece of string? It depends on how much cap I have left and how I\'m feeling towards ATA!

But this is a new project and a new month, so I\'ll try it out for a while.

Thanks for the welcome, Cori.

Thank god you missed the first WUs which were 40MB each! ;-)))
Now they\'re 20MB but will be reduced to (I think) 6MB soon.

The initial app files are around 17MBytes. [These are hosted on mirror sites which has REALLY made a big impact]

After all the files are there:
WUs should only require a small amount of data transfer <100KB or so

If you have observed differently, please let me know what files are downloading and there sizes and I will try to remedy it.
