I'm getting this error message on both linux and windows on the same machine.

MindModeling@Beta | Message from server: Native Python v2.7 Application (Cross Platform) requires 1.97 KB/sec download bandwidth. Your computer has been measured at 1.96 KB/sec.

The measured 1.96 KB/sec bandwidth figure is wrong. I have no speed restriction set in the boinc manager.
Resetting the project seems to fix it.

It was discussed before and assumed to be fixed, but I guess not

Hey guys,

Hopefully this may help.

We released a new python app the week before this job went out. This means that everyone has to download the app. And this time it happened all at once. While the app was being distributed to everyone, bandwidth may have been slowed which caused the change in your bandwidth state. Since most people have gotten the new app by now we hopefully shouldn't see this issue for a while.

If you run into the bandwidth issue again, I believe bandwidth is a client side state on the boinc app. So resetting the project is the correct action to take.

Thanks for your support and happy crunching,

Brandon

It's still doing it, in fact it's not stopped doing it. I am having to reset the project twice a day in order to get work. I have another machine on the same network which is unaffected.

Yes, even removing and adding the project again won't solve the problem.
That's why there is a buildup in the tasks in progress.

We still are lead to believe that the issue stems from everyone downloading the updated Python app, subsequently consuming our bandwidth. There is not a whole that can be done on our end, other than wait out everyone downloading the update.

The problem should sort itself out in the next couple days after everyone gets the newest update, and everyone can get back to crunching like normal.

Thanks for contributing and happy crunching,
Nathan

It's still around.

Not as much as reported before (three times in the past week) but no work until the project is manually removed and re-installed then everything's happy for a couple of days.
