Hello, for the past few days ive been getting a windows dialog box coming up occasionally when MM@home is running, it is asking to replace a folder, Does it say where it is copying? Projects directory or Slots Directory? --Jack ____________ MindModeling@Home is fun

it is in the SLOTS directory that is being replaced Great -- Thanks; I found the code where this could possibly happen. I have added a code so that it won't copy from a to b if b already exists. I am not sure why it prompts you about overwriting.though. [do you have multiple user accounts on your computer?] Anyway, I will have a new version out by the end of the week with this fixed. I also hope that this version will be able to incorporate a whole lot more Windows machines that have problems with the version of Lisp we are currently using...we shall see. Thanks again, --Jack ____________ MindModeling@Home is fun

ok cool, i hope the fix works, because when windows prompts you to replace a file, all BOINC work stops, which sucks for me since i have several unattended computers that are not in my home doing work.

ok, im glad its not just me, that means it might get fixed, im using boinc 6.2.1.9 and its still happening. Happened to me on 5.10.45 today, and it was pure luck that I spotted it as it's a host with no monitor, keyboard or mouse! I only investigated after I noticed that the HD light was on solidly for a few minutes. Logged in via VNC to see the popup. I don't micromanage my hosts, so that one could have been sitting there for hours/days doing nothing :( Al.

I don't micromanage my hosts, so that one could have been sitting there for hours/days doing nothing :( Sadly, today, every host that I run MM on has been affected by this. The only reason that I noticed was that as soon as I VNC'd into my hosts to open up SIMAP they were all showing the dreaded dailog box. I've no doubt that running MM as the only project doesn't show this problem (clue: it only happens when resuming after being checkpointed out), but I have minimal computing power and have to share it around many projects. I can't afford to leave hosts dead waiting for user input when they have no KVM :( I'm afraid I'll have to drop this project for a while, or maybe just leave one host crunching only MM - Do you have enough work to keep this host running? I'm suspending MM until this is fixed. Will I be notified when a fix is available?

hey guys, ive turned MM back on, and its been going for like 12 hours, at least 5 tasks have gone by, and no errors ***update well i ran it all day, with boinc set to 'run always', and no problems however i just set it back to 'run on preferences' which for me is after 3 min idle and our little friend popped back up, so i dont know if that helps the code editors, but it seems to happen when boinc stops and starts
